The Stages of Alcoholism

The old adage goes “if you think you might have a problem, you probably do.”  For alcohol and drug abuse this is especially true but often we don’t recognize we have an issue.

Anyone who drinks should assess their usage very once in a while.  Addiction creeps up on people, they don’t realize that they are becoming dependent as it happens.  People don’t have to hit rock bottom for a change to be made but it does take commitment, motivation and accountability.

The most important thing to remember is that anyone can quit.  Most need some help but make no mistake, it can be done.

There are many reasons to come see a therapist.  Number one is, if you feel like you want to talk someone do it.  It’s good to just talk to someone once in a while to help sort the world out.
